This patient sought treatment in Dr. Signore's Tinley Park dermatology office for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the underarms and hands for the past 4 years. He had tried antiperspirants without success. His severe hyperhidrosis caused sweat to drip from the underarms for most of the day. This patient underwent a two hour initial homeopathic office interview during which time Dr. Signore asked numerous questions pertaining to both the perspiration problem and many other aspects of his health. This allowed Dr. Signore to select his individualized homeopathic medicine which best matched the patient's skin problems.
This photo shows the same patient 10 weeks after taking his individualized homeopathic constitutional remedy by mouth each day. Here you see that the the sweating has normalized with the right homeopathic medicine and there is no further dripping of sweat. His hands and fingers also have less sweating. Furthermore, he has much less GI upset with restaurant food and fast foods. Finally, his early morning abdominal cramping is improved after beginning his individualized homeopathic remedy. Sometimes, when the correct homeopathic natural medicine is prescribed, other seemingly unrelated medical issues may also improve.
Have you ever felt embarrassed when shaking hands with someone because your hands were dripping wet with sweat? Do you have to change your shirts several times in the same day because they're drenched with perspiration? If so, you're not alone! Approximately 3% of people suffer from excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis. And 40% of people with hyperhidrosis have at least one or more family members similarly affected with excessive sweating.
Hyperhidrosis can be very unpleasant and can be associated with decreased quality of life and low self-esteem. It usually begins around the ages of 14 to 20 year old, but it can occur even earlier in life. Many people are unaware that help is available for their excess sweating. By the time patients come to Dr. Signore's dermatology office, they have usually tried over-the-counter or prescription aluminum containing anti-perspirants without success.
In Dr. Signore's dermatology office, we often treat our hyperhidrosis patients with classical homeopathic medicine, a type of complementary medicine. Prior to the first visit, patients fill out a homeopathic questionnaire, which Dr. Signore studies before they come in. During the initial homeopathic evaluation, Dr. Signore inquires about the patient's excessive sweating problem. Dr. Signore also then asks about the patient's other issues and concerns and then he checks a computer database (a process known as repertorization) and selects the patient's individualized remedy which the patient takes by mouth. Homeopathic remedies are derived from natural substances, such as plants and minerals.
Dr. Signore's hyperhidrosis patients are seen every 4 to 6 weeks, usually for several more visits, until the excessive sweating improves. Sometimes, it takes 2 or 3 office visits before the hyperhidrosis improves sufficiently, so it's important to be patient. Homeopathic treatment has the advantages of being safe, painless, convenient to take (pleasant tasting dissolvable pills), and less expensive than other commonly used hyperhidrosis dermatology procedures. In some patients, the improvement in their excessive sweating can last many years after they stop their homeopathic treatment.

This young man has suffered with EXCESSIVE SWEATING (HYPERHIDROSIS) of the hands and feet since early grade school. For him, hyperhidrosis was not only embarrassing, but it interfered with his business. It was hard to work with paper (because sweat from the hands made paper receipts and forms wet). His sweating also made working with his hands difficult because of the excessive sweat. He had tried iontophoresis without benefit. He had read about HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINE as a treatment for HYPERHIDROSIS online and he sought treatment with Dr. Signore's dermatology office in Tinley Park, Illinois. He filled out the pre-homeopathic evaluation questionnaire and then had a two-hour inital homeopathic evaluation with Dr. Signore. During the interview, Dr. Signore asked a lot of questions to better determine this patient's unique physical, emotional, and intellectual characteristics. This helped him find the patient's correct CONSTITUTIONAL HOMEOPATHIC REMEDY. The photo above shows the patient's profuse sweating BEFORE treatment.
The above photo shows the same young man 11 weeks after beginning his constitutional homeopathic medicine, which in his individual case was a mineral remedy derived from triturated brimstone. After the first 13 days of treatment, he noticed that his hands were not as sweaty as they usually were! After four weeks of treatment, Dr. Signore prescribed the same remedy in a stronger form (higher potency). At eleven weeks, you can see that his palm are NO LONGER SWEATY. He was able to work the past seven weeks WITHOUT a single episode of excessive sweating at work! When people with excessive sweating find relief through dermatological treatments (such as homeopathic medicine), they are often happy because they now feel NORMAL.
